Subramaniam Ramasubramanian is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) student at the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne. His dissertation focuses on a cybersecurity management approach in organizations to maneuver advanced persistent threat-actor cyber-attack operations during digitalization process. His primary research question is, "What is the affect of cybersecurity management approach on leakage of sensitive digital assets due to advanced persistent threat actor cyber-attack operations during organizational innovation process?" Before pursuing his Ph.D., Subramaniam led engineering teams at Symantec Corporation, Pune, India, and Microsoft Corporation, Seattle, United States. At Symantec Corporation, now acquired by Broadcom Inc. company, Subramaniam led teams in Symantec Security Technology and Response division responsible for developing core security technologies that underpin cybersecurity products for consumers and enterprise customers such as Norton AntiVirus, Endpoint Security, etc. Subramanian role was an Agile Release Train Engineer responsible for the Scrum team's planning and delivery of security products using Agile software engineering principles. Before his work at Symantec Corporation, Subramaniam led cross-functional teams in Microsoft Corporation's Information and Technology division, delivering applications that underpin Microsoft's hire-to-retire business process. A few of the applications he led include managing Microsoft's performance management review cycle and developing Microsoft's employees' and managers' self-service transactions leveraging the Microsoft's human resources intranet portal. The self-service transactions include but not limited to employees located across the globe managing personal information, requesting employment verification letters, initiating termination of work at Microsoft, etc.
